Engines | CAE | Legend / Hotspots Settings

This exercise helps user to understand Legends and hotspots in detail.

Click Engines -> CAE -> Legend/Hotspots Settings

It pops up Legend / Hotspots dialog box which contains 3 tabs

  1. Update Legend
  2. Edit Legend
  3. Hotspots Finder

Updating Legend:

Change Range

User can change range of CAE values by enabling Min and Max check boxes. And user can change any one side of range either Min or Max or both.

Min & Max  By enabling this check box, min and max values and corresponding nodes will be displayed in viewer.
Reverse Legend Legend values will be reversed but not the color palettes. model colors  change due to this rivert.
Legend By un-checking this option, Legend information will be hidden. But no change in Model colors.
Contour This is toggling for applying  and deleting CAE contour values in model.
Update Current Frame updates current frame only.
Update All Frames updates all frames if the file contains more than one frame.

Editing Legend:

Scientific Legend values will be displayed in scientific format with precision 3 decimals by default.
Standard Legend values will be in normal format with precision 3 decimals by default
Precision For both the above two formats, user can change precision levels
Text Color... User can change text color suitable for background.
Two Colors Palette list will be split into two colors blue and red. This helps user to find clear boundary between two CAE values.

 

To Edit Palette or Text Color:

 Click any color listed in palette color or click Text Color button  to edit. It pops up color pick dialog box..

Click OK after defining color. The color chosen will be updated in appropriate places.

 

Hotspots Finder:

This exercise helps us to specify settings for hotspot finder . While displaying hotspots, Label List dialog can be popped up to show the list of nodes or labels.

Range   User can fix minimum and maximum. Hotspot finder finds the hotspots between min and max specified and displays.
Count   Top and Bottom check boxes helps user to get Top 'n' hotspots or Bottom 'm' hotspots to be found and displayed.
Exclude Region Finds hotspots in the region excluded from user drawn window.
Previous Labels Usually hotspots found latest or last will be displayed and earlier labels will be deleted. This option allows user to keep previous found hotspot labels also.
Label List It is another link to Engines -> Label List dialog box.
ID

If this option is unchecked, the label being probed will not display the element/node Id. This will be applicable only for labels being created after the setting is done.

On Visible Surface

The hotspots will be found only on the visible surface (nodes) from the current view point, if this option is true. Otherwise, the hotspots will be found on the region including hidden surfaces (nodes) from the current view point. This option is set as true by default.
