Render | Stereo

What is Stereo?

When humans perceive the environment around them, each eye sees a different perspective image. These two images give rise to the perception of true depth. Most printed images, which look 3D, are classified as monoscopic images. A stereoscopic image, on the other hand, appears to have real depth where objects can even seem to leave the surface of the display device and the 3D environment appears.

A stereoscopic image is composed of a right perspective and a left perspective image. In order to see a stereoscopic image, you must be able to view both of these perspective images simultaneously. When your right eye views the right frame and your left eye views the left frame, your brain will perceive a true 3D view.

The Render | Stereo command toggles the Stereo mode on and off.

Note: Stereo effect can be obtained only if your graphic card supports stereo mode.

Render | Stereo | Active Shutter Classes

Active shutter glasses are used to view the image in 3d format. If we don’t have active shutter glasses we can have similar experience with red and blue glasses.

Pre-requisites for experiencing Stereo

  1. Workstation with Stereo ready Graphics card
  2. Shutter Glasses and Emitter

Please note that the stereo will not be experienced even if the software generates two images. If your workstation does not support stereo then the following dialog box pops up, indicating the user that the Graphics card is not stereo ready.
